GYMNASTICS CLUB STAFF TRAINING AND RESOURCES
Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training for Gymnastics Clubs
Keep your gymnasts and gyms safe. Virtual workshops on child sexual abuse prevention in gymnastics will be offered twice a month for gymnastics club owners, coaches and staff throughout the country. These workshops will run free-of-charge through November 2021.
These 90-minute workshops will give club staff the knowledge and tools to effectively and confidently keep gymnasts and gyms safe. The workshops will cover:
- Dynamics of child sexual abuse
- Appropriate athlete-coach boundaries
- How to recognize signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse
- How to report suspicions of child abuse to child protective services, law enforcement and/or the U.S. Center for SafeSport
- How to create a gym culture that promotes athletes’ wellbeing

ATTENTION NEW YORK STATE Gymnastics Clubs
Virtual workshops can be requested for an entire gymnastics club in New York State through a pilot project seeking to connect gymnastics clubs with local child protection experts to provide training and serve as an ongoing resource. These workshops will run free-of-charge through January 2022.
